MATERIAL & BUILD BASIS

1 × 2⅜ in · 2.375 in OD

  • 8.00 ft total steel pipe
  • 1 caps
  • 0.045 m³ concrete order
  • 5 × 50 lb bags when bagged concrete is selected
  • 1 excavated holes at 8 in × 4 ft
INSTALLATION SEQUENCE

Generated field instructions

  1. Confirm approved drawing, property limits, access and utility locates.
  2. Mark each B-number coordinate and verify clear spacing onsite.
  3. Excavate 1 holes at 8 in diameter × 4 ft deep.
  4. Set 2⅜" pipe plumb with 4 ft below grade and 4 ft exposed.
  5. Place specified concrete, consolidate around the pipe and fill the tube where selected.
  6. Recheck alignment, protect the work and allow the specified cure before exposure to service.

CALCULATION BASIS

What the calculator is doing

  • Footing volume = round hole volume minus the outside volume displaced by the embedded pipe.
  • Tube fill = the pipe's actual inside diameter × selected fill height.
  • Waste is added only after footing and tube volumes are combined.
  • The default 8–30 in holes are editable starting points, not engineering specifications.
Important

This is a material and pricing estimator—not a crash-rating or structural design tool. Confirm utilities, frost depth, soil, drainage, reinforcement, required setbacks and the project engineer's specification before installation.

Reference basis: QUIKRETE post-hole calculator, Reliance Foundry installation guidance, and Wheatland Schedule 40 dimensions.
